NeuroVersed

Neurodivergent-affirming therapy, training, & expert legal insights — all in one space.

Welcome to our neurodivergent-affirming universe!

Neurodivergence is the term for people whose brains function differently in one or more ways than is considered standard or typical. At Neuroversed, we understand that we all experience, process, and relate to the world in different ways — and that’s something to celebrate!

We provide compassionate, neurodivergent-affirming and trauma-informed therapy to children, adults and families in Colorado. We also offer professional training to therapists and educators, and partner with legal professionals to bring our expert insights on children and families in court-involved cases.

Whether you’re a parent, educator, therapist, or legal advocate who want to expand your... — you belong here.

Therapy for Children, Teens, Adults & Families in Colorado

Types of Therapy We Offer

Willows Counseling now has a new online home under the NeuroVersed umbrella, but our mission remains steady: we are here to support neurodivergent children and the people who love them. We specialize in mental health care for kids and families navigating attachment wounds, trauma histories, educational challenges, and behavioral-emotional overwhelm.

These are big, complicated experiences—and too often, families are met with confusion, stigma, or systems that don’t know how to help. At Willows, we understand that behavior is communication, and that healing doesn’t come from quick fixes or generic advice. It comes from attuned connection, safe relationships, and support that honors each family’s unique wiring, stress patterns, and needs.

We offer a range of therapeutic approaches designed to support neurodivergent children, adults, and their caregivers in concrete, compassionate ways:

Child & Adolescent Therapy

Our work with children is grounded in play, co-regulation, and developmental attunement. We use relational and somatic approaches—including play therapy, parts work, and trauma-informed tools—to help kids process big emotions, build internal safety, and strengthen their sense of self. Whether a child is masking, melting down, or somewhere in between, we create a space where they can be fully seen and supported without judgment.

Parent & Caregiver Support

We believe parents and caregivers are the most important healing resource in a child’s life—and they need support, too. We offer therapy, consultation, and psychoeducation to help adults understand their child’s nervous system, shift stuck patterns, and find sustainable ways to connect and respond. No shame. No fixing. Just real, grounded guidance for caregivers doing the hard work of raising sensitive, complex kids.

Adult Therapy

Many of the adults who find us have spent a lifetime masking, over functioning, or being misunderstood. Some come to therapy newly exploring their neurodivergence; others have known for years but are still untangling the impact of misattunement, burnout, or trauma. We provide affirming, depth-oriented therapy for neurodivergent adults—including late-identified autistic folks, ADHDers, AuDHDers, LGBTQIA+ individuals, parents, educators, care professionals, and those who exist in the in-between spaces. Our work together may focus on boundaries, sensory regulation, self-trust, grief, identity, or relationship repair. You do not need to have a formal diagnosis to work with us—just a sense that you’re looking for a space where your full self is welcome.

Family Therapy

Families are systems, and when one part is hurting, everyone feels it. We offer family therapy that supports communication, repair, and attunement—especially in households impacted by trauma, disability, or high levels of stress. Our clinicians are experienced in navigating blended families, neurodivergent parenting dynamics, and the deep desire many families carry to reconnect after rupture.

Group Therapy

Group spaces can be incredibly powerful for neurodivergent kids, teens, and adults—especially when they’re grounded in consent, authenticity, and shared humanity. We offer therapeutic groups focused on emotional regulation, social connection, identity exploration, and nervous system support. These groups aren’t about conformity or “fixing social skills”—they’re about cultivating connection, curiosity, and confidence in relationship with others. Each group is tailored by age and theme, and we provide pre-group consultation to ensure a good fit.

Collaboration with Schools & Providers

We understand that therapy doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Many of our clients also need accommodations at school, medication management, or interdisciplinary care. Our team is experienced in collaborating with educators, pediatricians, and allied professionals to help ensure continuity, advocacy, and wraparound support. When needed, we offer written reports, school meetings, and guidance to help families navigate IEPs, 504s, and complex systems with confidence.

How We Work

Willows clinicians are trained in neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed care. We tailor our approach to each client and family, drawing from modalities like Synergetic Play Therapy, AutPlay Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic integration work. These frameworks help us understand the nervous system, support emotional regulation, and build authentic connection from the inside out.

But more than anything, we lead with relationship. Therapy here is not about fixing what’s “wrong”—it’s about honoring what’s true, building safety, and helping each person experience themselves as worthy, connected, and capable.

Training, Supervision & Consultation for Therapists

Training, Supervision & Consultation for Therapists

Through NeuroVersed, Val offers individualized support to therapists, supervisors, and interdisciplinary professionals who are navigating complex cases, deepening their clinical intuition, or building a neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed practice. This work is relational, grounded, and deeply collaborative—never formulaic.

Whether you're a new clinician seeking supervision, an experienced therapist working through burnout or ethical uncertainty, or a provider wanting to expand your lens for working with neurodivergent clients, Val offers a space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with your clinical integrity.

Supervision & Reflective Consultation

Val provides individual and small-group supervision for pre-licensed therapists and post-grad clinicians looking for reflective space to integrate theory, relational dynamics, and nervous system awareness into their work. Her approach draws from parts work, somatics, polyvagal-informed thinking, and a strong foundation in child and family systems. Supervision is not just about clinical “competence”—it’s about cultivating presence, clarity, and care for both client and self. In this part: Val also offers supervision for Registered PLay Therapy, she's a supervisor for that. I also draw a lot from synergetic workCase

Consultation for Complex & Court-Involved Cases

Val specializes in supporting clinicians, evaluators, and care teams navigating high-conflict, court-involved, or ethically nuanced situations—especially those involving neurodivergent children and families. Her consultations provide a structured, attuned space to explore clinical decisions, role clarity, and professional boundaries in systems that often demand more than they give.

Training & Workshops

Val offers tailored training and workshops on neurodivergent-affirming care, trauma-informed school collaboration, nervous system literacy, and clinical support for professionals working in educational, medical, or legal-adjacent settings. She also provides focused training on the ethics and complexities of testifying in court on behalf of children—an area where well-meaning clinicians can quickly find themselves entangled or overwhelmed. Val helps therapists understand their role boundaries, legal obligations, and how to advocate effectively without overstepping clinical scope.

Her teaching is known for being clear, connective, and radically human—offering not just information, but the kind of grounded, regulation-aware guidance that sticks.

Training for Schools & Educators

This is rather complicated or two part

1 is training to educators about teaching and working with kids who are neurodivergent.

2 is as a site for University students in their practicum and internship phase of their master's program.

During practicum, the student will shadow a clinician and averages about 5 clients per week.  After the first few weeks and once the student is ready, they can transition in to the role of primary clinician and have their supervisor observe their sessions. During internship, the student has a caseload of about 10 clients per week and is paid $23/clinical hour while still learning and growing in confidence.  Willows provides individual supervision as well as small group training each week.

Willows supervises and practices from a systemic, attachment, relational perspective.  We prioritize and model inclusion, equity and cultural humility.
